MEMORIAL DAY EVENTS
• Sacramento, CA — MOUNT VERNON MEMORIAL PARK will hold its 41st annual Memorial Day tribute on Monday, 26 May 08 at 11 a.m. The special tribute will honor all veterans, past and present, who have given us the special privileges that we enjoy today. The event is the largest in Sacramento and includes over 460 large American flags, military color and honor guards, musical salutes by the USAF Band of the Golden West, a flag folding ceremony, the missing soldier’s table, a giant flag parachute jump and a jet flyover. The guest speaker will be Major General Wm. H. Wade, II, Adjutant General California National Guard. The public is invited to this free event. • Redding, CA — LAWNCREST MEMORIAL PARK will hold their annual Memorial Day tribute on Monday, 26 May 08 at 10 a.m. The tribute will include military color and honor guards, patriotic musical salutes, a flag folding ceremony, a missing soldier’s table and a precision drill team. The keynote speaker will be Lt. Col. Charles Schaupp, USMC (Ret). There is no charge for this event. Lawncrest Memorial Park, 1522 E. • Redding, CA — REDDING MEMORIAL PARK will hold their annual Memorial Day celebration on Monday, 26 May 08 at 12 p.m. This celebration will include military color and honor guards, patriotic musical salutes, a precision drill team and a jet flyover.
